Sail Komodo dragons program constructed umpteen long. And 2013 it is too close. If referring to thence, it likely we do not get opportunities because the route already specified. We will keep copes utilizing opportunities despite small. Although the Sail Komodo dragon 2013 they cannot stop over on the territory of us. Sail Komodo dragon 2013, we consider starting as the beginning. There will be Sail Komodo dragon II onwards, besides it is also Sail Indonesia. In the near future, we will invite our friends who manage Sail, such to see potential culture and tourism we have, so our wishing on the next Sail Komodo or Sail Indonesia is the East Manggarai Region including in agenda.

From many planning in the sector, which has been accomplished?

It’s all depend funds. This regency newly formed by the articles depends greatly from the central. Our PAD is only about 2-3 percent. With the limitation of it region begins to build Coast Cepi Watu.

It is a proof of the government program that the local has already started building tourism herein. Then for the diverse we every year convene event stage culture. The aim to acquaint that culture of East Manggarai is also interesting to visits and become part of the tourism package at this county. We have started from here.

Therefore, there are some places to be promoted. Among them is Lake Rana Kulan, Lake Rana Mese. In addition promotion shall be increased. With limited funds for building it is important role promotion, hopes investors may come and together with us.

Besides hoping to investor, we also wanted to see how the role of society, as well as tourism shall not belong to foreign, or local people is only be audience. The extent of pride but not thrive its economic. We wish there was one of the draft integrated whereby the public can become part of the tourism.

Accomplishment like what would like to obtain from the realization of the planning socialization of conscious tours?

Just there is involved in any events. As the area Cepi Watu we have involved people around.  We will develop the drafts.

The hotels are not focus on luxury hotel. We will get the international standard home stay. The key is people must be ready receiving guests. The government also did training.

As yesterday, there is tour guide training. Then there are some villagers to become the local tourist destinations entangled in the development of tourism. There is a fund associated with the PNPM Tours Village we has already started to do.

From its potential, how ideally is grand design of the developing culture and tourism sectors will be designed?

We admit, we have not got any grand design yet. But this is indeed must be there, lest may know the progress. Today, where is our position, tomorrow is what to do, fore then become like what.

We will involve some colleges enough focus on the tourism and culture. We will try interweaving cooperation with the Gadjah Mada University about it. So what would be developed become indirect.

Thus East Manggarai’s aspiration as the main soon reached. It’s a high hope. We have planned to build Airport in Cape Tanjung Bendera. May it could quickly become a reality. We know there is an airport in the Region Mbay in Nagekeo, whereby targeted as the biggest one in the Flores. We see this as opportunities when associated with Komodo dragon attractions in Labuan Bajo in West Manggarai.

If the construction of the airport have finished, then we sanguine potential culture and tourism in this region will be getting known society both inside and foreign country.

How far the efforts have been efforts to take investors?

We realize to funding is still depends on central government. Because of that the first attempt is making approaches to the central government in associated with the master plan washy MP3EI where NTT is the one of DTW. We wish central government also take part in the process of the tourism and culture development in this region.

Besides, the largest actual is involvement of the investors. We cannot self-moving, through the promotion of such as we say that East Manggarai is heaven it a safe place and convenient for invest. Region Government of East Manggarai will give various conveniences in accordance provisions shall prevail. We have had the one stop service agency (KPPT) that the people so easy to invest because the process of permitting is not winded.

Have this applied?

Already have. Mr. Regent even has been issued approximately 80 permits only in one year after KPPT established. According to information this permitting administration office is quite brave, it’s ran gales. It’s a proof that the government seriously gave conveniences to invest in the East Manggarai.

How does the development synergy of the sector with the region else in Flores?

We have done coordination with county neighbors. Because we tied in the concept of Flores is the purpose of the tour. So now often do the meeting.

We broke Flores used to be two, the east and the west. The western we focused in Labuan Bajo. It’s the eastern part in Maumere in Sikka. First, we all agreed shall make success tourism and culture program on the Flores that covering eight county. Many of the objects of tour in Flores have become the world icon. Among them are Kelimutu and Komodo dragon that just enter into Seven Wonders of the World. Because, we are include in Flores development package. We cannot establish our DTW own selves, moreover the limited infrastructure within. So the role of the county neighbors also very important.

What are your future expectations?

Our ideally hope, is that our hope also become people hope in this region. We are optimistic fore into the purpose of international tourism. For what we invites the investors and together with us to build East Manggarai.

We will help and try to cooperate to create convenience of the investors shall invest herein. We are looking forward to it. There a potential. Moreover, if we link up with agriculture, forestry and so on.

We will also have developed agriculture-based tourism, because all planted can growth here. So the picture about the arid is not here. We also have the cold potential region, and the beach. I told that East Manggarai is a completely culture and tourism package. Unwilling to altitude 1100 meter areas have certain cool atmosphere and there also nuanced the beach in the other. Since that, we also let the whole society engage take the joint build East Manggarai. Thus when region is become international DTW we are not spectators but become part of the tourism.**
